This is not a permanent result — expect roughly 12 to 18 months depending on how much lift was placed and how your tissue behaves — and it is not a substitute for a surgical lift if that is genuinely what your anatomy needs. Local anesthetic is used at the entry points. Most patients describe pressure and tugging rather than pain. Soreness and tightness for several days afterward are normal.
Most people return to normal activity within a day or two, with possible bruising, swelling and a tight or puckered look that settles over one to two weeks. Avoid strenuous exercise and facial massage while you heal.
Threads reposition tissue modestly and suit mild to moderate laxity. If you have significant skin excess, a surgical lift will give a better and far more durable result — and we will say so rather than sell you threads.
That is your call to make. It is about 40 minutes, and threads are a single-session treatment rather than a series, so most Lakewood patients make the trip once for the consult and once for treatment — or combine both in a single visit.
