- Avoid touching, rubbing, or massaging the area.
- Apply ice packs for swelling (10 minutes on / 10 off).
- Stay hydrated.
- Sleep with your head elevated.
- Avoid strenuous exercise.
- Avoid alcohol and excessive salt.
- Avoid excessive heat — saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, tanning beds.
First 48 Hours
- Avoid facials, massage, microneedling, chemical peels, and laser treatments.
- Avoid pressure on the area: face-down sleeping, tight goggles, excessive facial massage.
Lips Specifically
- Expect more swelling the next morning.
- Use a straw normally for the first day.
- Small lumps are often swelling and usually soften over 1–2 weeks.
